Antonio Gaudi - Concepts

• Embracement of irregularity regarding form, space and texture

• Organic - Organic style inspired by nature. Predominance of the curve over the straight line, rich decoration and detail, vegetal and other organic motifs, the taste for asymmetry, a refined aestheticism, and the dynamic shapes

• Integration of crafts: ceramics, stained glass, wrought ironwork forging and carpentry.

Lightness - endeavour to “enclose space at the least expense”. Based on close collaboration between architect and engineer. Eg. Millenium Dome, London, United Kingdom, 1996-1999
Transparency - glass and light, which together form the building and play with the relations between interior and exterior
Elegance
Legibility - buildings which express, in their very forms, the manner in which they have been constructed, what keeps them standing and how they function. A “legible”allows itself to be apprehended and decoded by the public.
Systems – (“high-tech style”) The aim of these constructive systems, which employ new technologies and modern materials, is prefabrication and the application of mass production to architecture which enables flexibility, efficiency, low production costs and construction site savings.
Environmental - Sustainable development. Priority given to renewable energies in the production and operation of its creations.

Although we encourage you to be imaginative and creative with your stair design, it's also important that they are functional. Especially since they are such an important part of the brief, and critical in this exercise for the transport of artwork between levels, functional stair design should be well considered.
